Vinul de astazi, Bin 311 Chardonnay 2017, reflecta cel mai bine “crezul” Penfolds: “mergem acolo unde fructul creste cel mai bine si in regiunea care se potriveste cel mai bine stilului sau”. Din 2017, strugurii pentru acest vin provin din podgoriile de vita de vie din Adelaide, Tasmania, Tumbarumba. Galben pai stralucitor, acest vin este unul proaspat si revigorant, cu note olfactive diverse care amintesc de nuga, fistic, crème brulee sau piersica. Pe palat, vinul dezvaluie arome de castravete si lime. Va recomandam degustarea acestui vin la 10-12 grade Celsius, alaturi de peste, fructe de mare sau mancaruri cu o textura cremoasa.

• Struck match, touches of toasted hazelnut and grilled peach and fresh lime notes give the 2017 Chardonnay Bin 311 ample complexity on the nose and palate. It's medium-bodied, with a touch of creaminess on the mid-palate and a long, silky finish. New for this year, it's a blend of fruit from the Adelaide Hills (56%), Tasmania (27%) and Tumbarumba (17%), so in the United States, it carries the inauspicious GI of South Eastern Australia. Don't be misled by that, as it's a serious, classy wine for a very reasonable price.

• Aromas of nectarines, papaya, guava, white and yellow peaches and a whiff of lemon, all surrounded by smoothly delivered wood and winemaker influence. The palate is taut and crunchy with pithy grapefruit and cucumber crunch, then a wave of richer honeysuckle and light biscuity notes. Adelaide Hills, Tasmania and Tumbarumba fruit sourcing. Drink or hold.

• Juicy, ripe lime, with flint, nougat, cashew and complex phenolic chew. Acid backbone lends focus. Drinking Window 2019 - 2027.
